Our library also offers a large selection of English-language movies and documentaries on DVD and video and an extensive collection of audio books from English-language authors on CD and cassette.
Library Cards, Loan Periods and Renewals
To obtain a library card, you must register in the library using a valid picture-ID (Personal identification card (Personalausweis), passport with registration card). The yearly fee is 10 €. Members of the Friends of the DAI can receive a library card free of charge. The library card is valid for one year from the date of issue and can be renewed through payment of the yearly fee.
With your library card you can borrow books, audio cassettes and CDs for 4 weeks, magazines for 2 weeks and DVDs or videos for 1 week. When the loan period expires, you must either return the materials or renew them, otherwise a fine will be charged. To renew, you can come to the library, call, send an e-mail to bibliothek@dai-nuernberg.de or you can renew through your account in our Internet-OPAC. For a small fee, materials can be reserved.
