Louis Romanos Quartett (LRQ)
Open Air Jazz Concert- in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Jazz-Studio Nürnberg
LRQ is a New Orleans' influenced modern Jazzquartet lead by New Orleans composer/percussionist, Louis Romanos. He wrote, performed and produced for serveral different bands from R&B to electronica. When he started writing tunes that didn't fit into those genres he decided that they were better expressed through Jazz: Not just standard Jazz, but Jazz the way he wanted to hear it. Around 2001, Louis put together his own acoustic Jazz band, The Louis Romanos Quartet, or the LRQ, for short. The LRQ is an integration of his many influences and pays tribute to many of Lou's musical heroes. It represents his love for groovin', soulful Jazz but also the more abstract modern Jazz and profound melodies.
Mr. Romanos began his career growing up and performing with exceptional musicians including Brad Mehldau and Joel Frahm. From there, instead of accepting a scholarship to study music at Berkley in Boston, he went down to New Orleans to see what Jazz was like from the source. There he studied, recorded and performed with many great musicians including Earl Turbinton, Victor Atkins, Dave Easley, Charlie Miller, Charles and Ceryll Neville, Brian Seeger, and Stanton Moore.
