Talk with Katrin Horn„Hedwig“ is a gaudy and flamboyant film about a transsexual boy from East Berlin who falls in love with an American G.I. and follows him to the United States. After a botched sex-change operation that leaves Hedwig with no more than an angry inch for genitalia, she begins touring the US as an outrageous punk rock act. On the way she meets various people whose identities are either not quite clear or determined by borderlines, ranging from transsexuals all the way to South Korean women.
