Germany and the US have weathered the storm of the worst recession since the 1930s. Yet in both countries the relationship between business and government remains rocky. This panel discusses the wider expectations and demands that society poses to business under the label of corporate social responsibility in areas such as environmental and consumer protection, gender equality, education, and support of disadvantaged groups.
