The story of the evening is „Breaking and Entering“ by Sherman Alexie.
For all those lovers of intriguing US short stories and for all those who do not feel they can read a whole novel each month, we are now introducing a monthly short story evening. As a newcomer, you are also welcome to join the group and listen in to the discussion without prior knowledge of the text. In the 90 minute session, we will read the story, discuss the historical, social and cultural background as well as vocabulary in the story. „Breaking and Entering“ by Sherman Alexie tells about a film editor’s fateful confrontation with an adolescent who enters his house to steal his DVD collection. You can pick up a copy of the story at the DAI library during opening hours.
