The Social and Cultural Construction of Abraham Lincoln in US Movies and US TV

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, might well be the figure from US history who has been most frequently portrayed in US film and television. Drawing on the field of Heroism Studies, Prof Dean will examine how Lincoln, instrumental in the liberation of enslaved African Americans has been represented in visual mass media over the course of the past decades.
