Although efforts to establish a national cap-and-trade system collapsed in the summer of 2010 when the Senate failed to pass key legislation, since then there have been many developments in U.S. climate change policymaking. This presentation reviews the events of the past couple of years and looks ahead to the next couple of years, beyond the results of the 2012 elections.
Three central policy areas are covered: pricing greenhouse gases, supporting climate-friendly technologies, and advancing international cooperation.
